About Dr Mark Nicol

Mark qualified in Medicine from St Andrews University 1984 then Manchester University 1987. He has had a long standing passion for flying taking his first lesson in 1988 on the Isle Of Man, obtained his pilot licence (GPFT) in Australia 1994 and got his NPPL in a fixed wing microlight Eurostar EV 97 in 2011.

Complementing his interest in flying he has been an NHS Emergency Medicine Consultant since 2000 and has undertaken aeromedical retrievals since 1996. This has embraced a variety of environments from helicopter retrievals in outback Queensland to Shropshire, and fixed wing intercontinental retrievals from as far afield as Afghanistan and the Bahamas.
