About Dr Mark Nicol

Mark qualified from St.Andrews then Manchester Universities 1987, he has devoted most of his NHS career to Specialist in Emergency Medicine, but has also worked abroad in Australia.

In addition to acquiring the Australian pilot licence, Mark qualified NPPL, LAPL . He currently flies a Sportcruiser based at Manchester Barton with previous experience of flying Foxbat, EurostarEV97, Skyranger Nynja, Stearman biplane, PA 28 and Cessna 150.

As a current qualified pilot of 60 something years young he has himself experienced UNFIT to FLY letters & understands the passion pilots have to regain FIT status asap 

Complementing his interest in flying he has been an NHS Emergency Medicine Consultant since 2000 and has undertaken aeromedical retrievals since 1996. This has embraced a variety of environments from helicopter retrievals in outback Queensland to Shropshire, and fixed wing intercontinental retrievals from as far afield as Afghanistan and the Bahamas.

Mark has reconciled his medical experience passion for flying to gain CAAuthority to do Aviation Medical Exams (AME).
